BENJAMIN UPDATE.
6th May 2002 VERY SAD NEWS

It is with great sadness that our little lad Benjamin Bunny has passed away
he lay down on Saturday evening 4th May 2002 and died peacefully,
this is nearly 3 years after he had myxomatosis and he was a brave little fighter
this web site will continue in honour of his memory

The most commonly asked question "CAN OTHER ANIMALS CATS , DOGS ETC.. OR HUMANS CATCH MYXI" the answer is that there has never been a recorded incident of the virus crossing over to any other animal or human the virus was man made for the sole purpose of controlling wild rabbits
He has started a new career as a dads DIY helper when ever I do any DIY around the house he's always right there getting in to everything poking his nose in the paint pot and chinning all my screw drivers and other tools, he seem to think he is being so helpful Note the pencil behind his ear!

Benjamin's antics

Well just of late Benjamin has taken to sucking the fringe tassels on the edge of our settee he sucks them in and sit's there looking like he is sucking spaghetti, he still sleeps on the bed in a cat bed all night and likes going out in the garden but if he sees a cat then he runs in as fast as he can he's a bit of a wet girls blouse and not very brave.

INTRODUCTION
If
you have come to our site then your probably in need of some advice or help caring for your loved one just like my wife and myself when our beloved House Rabbit Benjamin feel foul to this despicable virus. We found that the sources of help were few and so decided to try and help others in the same position, see caring for your bunny with myxomatosis for advice given by our vet and assistants, that we tried and found helpful. Firstly if your Rabbit hasn't got  myxomatosis and your only looking around at Rabbit web sites then this is the time to make an appointment and get your rabbit Vaccinated against myxomatosis it may not stop them getting the virus but it gives them a much better chance of survival from 10% in unvaccinated rabbits to 50% in vaccinated.
